Background: The site is a portfolio for multidisciplinary design firm Sundown Studio, a digital presence and place for prospective clients and industry peers to look at the work it produces and gather some basic information about the studio.
Design core: One of the core features of the site is the animated gradients that appear throughout. They make the site feel more engaging and memorable without overshadowing the work. Bold and confident typography is another feature synonymous with our designs at Kin and lends itself well to presenting such a prominent studio in the creative environments space.
Challenges: Producing the animated gradients. We created them all natively in Webflow without the use of any imagery—just div blocks, color and animation.
New lessons: Even though we’re on the Webflow partner program, we’re relatively new to the space and are still learning. There were a lot of firsts for us on this project, from the gradients to some of the more complex layouts and featured projects section.
Technology: We used Figma to design the site and Webflow to build it.
