Before turning the page on a new chapter, Minnesota is curating a bass-filled dusk that will linger long after the lights come on.
The renowned electronic music producer has been a consistent source of innovation since he debuted the Minnesota project in 2011. He’ll now retire the moniker, but not before taking audiences on one last journey filled with the phantasmagoric wubs that made him one of the stateside dubstep scene’s most beloved producers.
He has now announced “Out of the Void,” his final tour as Minnesota. Spanning 24 dates, it kicks off this Friday, February 2nd and will head to Las Vegas, Chicago, Austin and other major U.S. cities before wrapping up in San Francisco on April 27th.
Silence will soon swallow the familiar for fans of Minnesota, but the future is bright as he plans to reveal a fresh alias—and plenty of new music.
“It is hard to describe what it feels like to put to rest this thing that I’ve been doing for a third of my life, but man I am so excited about the music I’ve been working on for my new project,” Minnesota said in a statement shared on his social media channels.
“I will be making music under a new moniker,” he continues. “I know this sounds so snobby but when people ask me what genre it will be or what artists the music will sound like, the only thing I can really say is that it is electronic music and that it will sound like me. But man, it is the best feeling in the world to hear that people are interested in what I do next. I am excited and scared to death about starting this new thing, but I am proud of myself for taking the chance to see what else I can do.”
