Welcome, welcome back, NextEarthians,
New year, new energy — what a banger of a month. Updates kept rolling out week after week, a monthly recap has never come at a better time. It was surely a lot to take in, so let’s summarize what you might have missed:
👉 Land Sale Work-to-Earn
Let’s start with our most important update, the first work-to-earn solution on Next Earth. Become a digital real estate agent and earn commission.
Select up to 16 tiles, reserve them for free for 30 days, then earn 10% commission from the total sale price if the area gets sold. Simple as that!
One account can’t reserve more than 100 areas, and users must use tags to inform the possible buyers of what they will be purchasing.
👉 Tagging
Tagging lands did not only become available for our work-to-earn solution, but also for the general userbase. Use tags on your lands for easy categorization and/or creating themed collections of your properties and land arts.
👉 Revamped Unit Generation
We’ve reworked our unit system to give extra credit to our active users. Units must be claimed on a daily basis from now on, and after 4 days of consecutive claiming, you’ll receive 110% of your units based on the number of your land tiles. After a 7-day streak, you’ll receive 120% of your units daily. Users who don’t manually claim their daily units will still receive 20% of units automatically every day. And, as a sneak peek, one of the reasons why we’ve reworked the reward system is because we’re working on giving additional utility to units.
👉 Revamped Home Page
We’ve also refreshed the My assets page, making it more informative, functional, user-friendly. With the new setup, you can see all the most important data of your profile and your lands in one glance, while the Settings was moved to its own separate page.
👉 Passwordless Login
A UX / land purchase flow improvement that you didn’t know you needed.
Next Earth went passwordless, which means users can now log in much easier: a code will land in your email inbox after entering your email address on app.nextearth.io. Enter this code to log into your account.
This change’s main goal was to improve the initial land purchase process, we expect a much better and uninterrupted flow.
👉 Marketplace Update
Not only did we add the ‘Recently Sold’ sorting option, but as an extension of the tagging feature we also introduced the ability to search tagged lands in the marketplace. Tagged lands will also have a highlighted box in the marketplace for enhanced visibility.
👉 Recently Sold Notifications
Speaking of recently sold lands, we also added a new “notification” feature on the app. This little pop-up window shows lands that were minted in the recent past to give you a sense of hot spots and popular places that you might want to look into. This pop-up window notification will be extended to other parts of the platform later on, such as marketplace transactions and recently tagged lands.
👉 Crew3
We started using Crew3 at the end of 2022, thanks to the recommendation of our amazing community members. After a short test run, we launched our full questboard in January to incentivize our community. Do smaller tasks in exchange for units, Next Earth gift cards, and (very soon) merch.
The leaderboard will be reset each month to give newcomers a better chance in participating. January’s leaderboard was reset on the 1st of February and tens of thousands of units were sent out. ✅

👉 Gift Card Land Pack Giveaway
To kickstart our Gift Card campaign in December, we promised to draw 25 random users from the list of buyers and gift them randomly generated lands called Land Packs. 24 Starter Packs (1,500 urban tiles, 4,500 non-urban tiles, and 9,000 water tiles) and 1 Moon Pack (36,000 urban tiles, 108,000 non-urban tiles, and 218,000 water tiles) were sent to the lucky winners, thank you for supporting us and congrats! 🥳
Keep an eye on our socials so you don’t miss out on these raffles.
👉 NXTT Anniversary Livestream
Our native token, NXTT, turned one year old on the 27th of January, so we celebrated in the latest session of Next Earth Live. Gabor and David took a short trip down memory lane, revisited the biggest milestones of the past one year, took a quick look at the current status and numbers of Next Earth, then moved on to the big guns: we shared the 2023 roadmap for Next Earth.
👉 2023 Roadmap
For those of you who did not have an hour for the livestream, we published a blog post summarizing it. If you don’t even have time to read the blog post… well then here’s the roadmap plain and simple:
We also have a top secret project up our sleeve… can you guess what the blur hides? 👀
