Ice Spice, Megan Thee Stallion, Mannequin Pussy, more

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

ICE SPICE – “THINK U THE SHIT (FART)”

Ice Spice already has a trademark style and it’s in full force on “Think U the Shit (Fart).”

MEGAN THEE STALLION – “HISS”

Megan Thee Stallion is sounding extra fired-up these days. “Cobra” was a real rager and the similarly snakey “Hiss” follows suit.

SHENSEEA – “HIT & RUN” (ft. MASICKA & DK GENIUS)

Shenseea has a real knack for pop-dancehall anthems that get stuck in your head on one listen, and “Hit & Run” is one of those.

MILITARIE GUN – “WILL LOGIC” (ft. MANNEQUIN PUSSY) & “WHOOPS I OD’D” (NOFX COVER)

Militarie Gun have just released the Life Under the Sun EP, with reworks of four songs from last year’s Life Under the Gun, three of which feature guests. The Bully and Manchester Orchestra collabs came out already, but here’s the stripped-back version of “Will Logic” with Mannequin Pussy, plus the EP’s acoustic NOFX cover.

SARAH SHOOK & THE DISARMERS – “REVELATIONS”

“I wrote ‘Revelations’ about navigating the rough terrains of mental health with my then-partner while he worked a back-breaking manual labor job, while I toured 150 days a year and obsessively recorded music, and about how we barely made ends meet despite having killer work ethic,” River Shook says of the title track of their new album. “People who live paycheck to paycheck are some of the hardest working folks out there, and being broke all the time isn’t always due to laziness or lack of effort. I wrote Revelations for working-class people and creatives trying our damndest to live good lives and get through the day as best we can.” Revelations is out on March 29.

MAXO KREAM – “BANG THE BUS” (prod. EVILGIANE)

Houston rapper Maxo Kream is back with a new single, and it finds him rapping over a woozy, pitched-up sample of Frou Frou’s “Let Go.” It was produced by Evilgiane, who also released the new project #HEAVENSGATE VOL. 1 today.

For me, the winter is when things begin. All the songs and records I’m most proud of have either been created or released during the winter months. You’ll listen to this song and hopefully know what it’s about, emerging from trees, trying to be open again.”
