Bigpicture | Communication Arts

Background: The company website for ad agency Bigpicture was primarily designed with two key targets in mind: one, letting clients view its previous work; and two, to appeal to a large pool of potential employees, hoping to expand its workforce.

Design core: Bigpicture primarily operates as an ad agency working on outdoor ad projects. The key distinction between outdoor and other surface advertising lies in its three-dimensional nature, and we made an effort to integrate this feature throughout the entire website. Utilizing 3-D objects and 3-D motion graphics, among other things, we aimed to create an overall three-dimensional sensation.

Challenges: Although we incorporated numerous elements to evoke a three-dimensional feel, there was a significant disparity between the actual development and the design mock-ups, which progressed in a flat state. Additionally, our striving to maintain a creative feel necessitated implementing interactions or motion graphics that hadn’t been developed before, resulting in a higher level of difficulty.

Technology: Primarily, we used three.js to create an overall three-dimensional effect, while Next.js and Prismic were utilized to complete various aspects of the website.
